Holiday Care has more than ten years’ experience in advising
the tourism and hospitality industry about accessibility and welcoming
disabled customers. This work has involved the assessment of premises,
staff training in disability equality and awareness, presentations
and the production of advisory publications.
With the advent of the 1995 Disability Discrimination Act all
providers of goods and services are required to welcome disabled
customers and not discriminate against them. The Act is not compliance
based and does not prescribe exactly what steps organisations
must take in order not to discriminate. It is therefore important
that tourism and hospitality companies ascertain how they can
best meet the needs of customers with special needs by seeking
professional and authoritative advice. Holiday Care is happy to
provide this.
Along with the tourist boards we are accredited to inspect accommodation
against National Accessible Scheme Standards. When we inspect,
we also provide advice on site and notify the client of their
access category by means of a written report with recommendations.
We also offer a full access audit service offering you the services
of registered professionals.
Whatever size of tourism or hospitality company or organisation
you are, our experienced consultancy service will provide expert
advice about every aspect of accessibility including promotional
materials in accessible formats.
Our consultancy and inspection rates are reasonable and our service
can be tailored to meet your exact needs. So do Contact
Us for advice on making your facilities and operations more
accessible to disabled customers
